Things that are on my mind lately:
1. John Updike. He’s such a great and visceral writer that definitely influenced my writing, not necessarily style but in the way I approach my own craft. He will be missed tenderly.
2. Coffee. I’m always drinking it.
3. Going on a trip; somewhere, anywhere. I wanderlust & I need inspiration asap.

The Double-Bed Dream Gallows
Driving through hot brushy country the late autumn, I saw a hawk crucified on a barbed-wire fence.
I guess as a kind of advertisement to other hawks, saying from the pages of a leading women’s magazine,

Andy’s so great - I have always liked the way he talks and phrases things. This reminds me of From A to B and Back Again: The Philosophy of Andy Warhol. Also known as amazing in book form.
