Paris FW 2010: Balmain
Balmain exemplifies rocker style with it’s skin tight cuts and kitschy vibe. Influences of the 1960s, 70s, and 80s are all over the place - paisely, leather, sequins, and shoulder pads. I love it, it’s almost like a retrospective of certain musicians - you can see hints of Bowie, Hendrix, and even Marianne Faithfull. Gold leather dresses, boots, leopard print - it’s garishly...

Now at Ideeli: Tarina Tarantino
Tarina Tarantino’s jewelry makes me think of: bubbly pink, bright, and just plain old fun. Not to mention, the use of Hello Kitty. So, check out the sample sale happening now at Ideeli! Price start at $14 (for the rhinestone skull studs). I’m really craving the pink diamante pendant - so vivacious! And the little skulls are cute yet spooky. Act now - the event ends in 1 day & 14...

Paris FW 2010: Anne Demeulemeester
I am particularly drawn to the statement making and the androgyny-influenced. Anne Demeulemeester channels my proclivities for the femme chic and the stripped down androgynous counterpart. While I’m not clamouring around town for every bit of this collection (so much black on black can get lost), I do dig the meat of it. The dark, moody and brooding gothic elements of Demeulemeester...

Paris FW 2010: Chloe
Chloe continues to be a house that inspires me with its utter carefree simplicity and taste. The blushy pinks, nudes, and neutrals are a feast for my eyes. Soft but not too sinewy. Also, I love tie-neck blouses, they remind me of some 1970s stark arts journalist. I think that’s fantastic, along with leather pants - and that sweatshirt inspired ensemble, but in leather? Yeah, I kind of...

Shop Crawl: Le Train Bleu
Ahhh, fantasy window shopping is an easy way for me to kill time. Le Train Bleu has some of my favorite pieces that are off-the-beaten-path and totally spurn the “Where did you get that?” phrase. They have such cute things, it makes me feel like I’m sifting through someone’s secret treasure trove. 1. Fox in the Snow Jacket, $184.80
Everyone needs a spring jacket -...

A Dream
Once a dream did weave a shade O’er my angel-guarded bed, That an emmet lost its way Where on grass methought I lay. Troubled, wildered, and forlorn, Dark, benighted, travel-worn, Over many a tangle spray, All heart-broke, I heard her say: ‘Oh my children! do they cry, Do they hear their father sigh? Now they look abroad to see, Now return and weep for me.’ Pitying,...

Milan FW 2010: Ferragamo
My sister and I share many things, including a love of Ferragamo. This collection is so us it’s astounding. The motif seems so 1960s European collegiate with skinny ties and belts, cardigans, chunky knits, smart hats, and streamlined trousers. The slouchy, boyish charm and feminine shorts are a quirky play on androgynous looks - some of my favorite ideas. I’m convinced this would be...

Wishlist Wednesday: Going Green
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! In the spirit, all of the items are of the green persuasion. Besides, a holiday based around a saint who allegedly drove all of the snakes out of a country is pretty bad ass, right? From light green shades to deep emerald, it’s all here. What works for you? 1. Felicity Strapless Pleated Dress in Green, $180 2. Ninotchka Ring in Sea, $128 3. Crochet Beret,...

Shop Crawl: Need Supply
It’s time to do some fantasy shopping - I love not working with a budget. But who does, honestly? This little round about is with Need Supply, a neat-o shoppe that has street wear sensibilities but with a twist. 1. Batik Print Romper, $42
What a great piece of spring or summer: the print is not too busy but still flirty and interesting.
Heels, flats, or I even want to pair this with...

So, of course I said yes when she asked if I would like to try some of her make up. This lipstick shade is called “All About Sue,” and it’s a really creamy rose pink, which I think...

Milan FW 2010: Les Copains
I love coffee with milk. These light tones remind me of coffee from the latest collection by Les Copains. I love the light blazer cut coats and the mix of knitwear with leather and latex: the ultimate hard meets soft. All in all, simple and utilitarian in a collection is always a good vibe. While though, largely not startlingly memorable, definitely solid. On the other hand, those stacked heeled...

Milan FW 2010: DSquared
Let it be known: I love anything that dribbles with influences of noir and futurism. DSquared hit the nail on the head with it’s space-age femme fatale meets Russian spy motif. The deep blood reds are fantastic with leather pieces, zippers, large sunglasses and scathing lips. And the red latex? Nice touch.

Wishlist Wednesday: Graphic Tees
I don’t wear graphic tees that often - sometimes I feel like that trend for me came and went in my high school years. However, when done well, I think that it can look right and snappy. Think paired with blazers, fitted skirts (maybe even high-waisted). 1. Bowie Oversized Tee, $48 2. Don’t Say “Non,” Tee-Shirt, $27 3. Love Vigilantes, $32 4. Tuxedo Tee Shirt, $32

In Which My Brain Thinks Like A Computer...
“Well, if I don’t like it, I can just delete it.” - On getting a new piercing or not. “This shirt is cute, but I could just get a cheap v-neck and install my own shoulder pads and chains.” On looking at some shirts in Forever21 This is what my internal dialogues sound like. I might be a cylon.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Sale at Ideeli
There’s a Marc by Marc Jacobs sale at Ideeli and these are some of my favorite shoes. I’m totally raving on the star peep toe flats - I firmly believe that I could wear them with anything. The black patent leather peep toes are classy and don’t you just love the heeled rain boots? The drawings remind me of doodles I made in high school all over my notebooks, except better. As...
