Gussy Up: A Beauty Giveaway!
Hello, dah-lings. I decided it was time for another giveaway of the relaxation variety. After running around at work and heading over to some fashion week events, I’ve been lucky enough to score loads of beauty products to test out. So, why not share the wealth? Not to mention, add a wee bit of sparkle while I’m at it.
One lucky winner will score: - Kiss false eyelashes - Lyp Syl...

It's Istanbul, Not Constantinople: Misela Preview
Misela’s new line is a lush prelude complete with the tag line: “Once Upon A Time In Istanbul.” One part dreamy and one part other-worldly, this collection has got it down. I admit, I wasn’t always the biggest fan of the clutch. I used to be one of those girls who hauls around everything but the kitchen sink, but within the past year or two, I’ve come around in my...

Wishlist Wednesday: Dark Matter
It’s not so much of a surprise to see that I put together a post based on all things dark (with just a tinge of gray). Maybe it’s the mystery and allure of black, or just my leftover art school tendencies that still find their way into my penchants. Whatever the case may be, enjoy the streamlined look just in time for fall.
Side note: Wouldn’t that Andy Warhol laptop case be...

Outfit du Jour: LA Woman
When: August 2011 Dress: Chantelle Necklace: H&M Bracelet: Forever 21 Rings: Madame Bijoux and c/o Satya Jewelry Shoes: La Fenice Yikes, this is a totally belated post from my trip to LA at the tail end of August. Check out my ombre hair, which is no more. Whenever I go to LA, I tend to make a habit out of stopping into the Melrose Ave boutique, Chantelle. So when I saw this 90s inspired...

Oh, Baby: Shoe Porn of NYFW
Altuzarra | Anna Sui Let’s get real, honeypies: I’m usually just in it for the shoes. So, why not drown out your eyes with some lovely suckers that I want to strap on my feet? Get ready, it might just get a little hot in here… Betsey Johnson | Diane Von Furstenberg Elie Tahari | Imitation of Christ Prabal Gurung | Preen Rodarte | Tracy Reese

On My Radar: Betsey Johnson's Pink Patch
Usually when I hear about lower priced lines from designers, I do one thing: cringe. Typically lower priced lines mean lack of quality and graphic tees with blazoned brand monikers. That, my dears, can’t be anything less than absolutely boring. Betsey Johnson pleasantly surprised me with Pink Patch, her new lower priced collection. Honestly, chickadees? It’s très mignon, complete...

NYFW: Helmut Lang
If I was a replicant a la Bladerunner, this is exactly what I would wear. Helmut Lang, nothing more, nothing less. Minimalist, draped dresses and those white and black shoes are perfect for robotic assassins.

NYFW: Betsey Johnson
Betsey, Betsey, Betsey… how do I love thee? Let me count the ways… In all seriousness, you can’t enjoy Betsey Johnson if you’re not buckled in for some pomp and circumstance all set for the stage. Johnson’s work is kitschy (to borrow this blog moniker) but that’s precisely the point. With touches of rock and punk and pink glam, Betsey knows what works. The...

NYFW: Monique Lhuillier
God, this woman. Monique Lhuillier knows how to craft a dress that is all the more structured and fitted but also no doubt sexy. I would be totally okay with the idea of only having to wear her dresses for the rest of my days. That yellow lace trench is to die for. Whoever though that neons could be so bright and yet so understated until now? What I’m really eyeing is the long blood red...

NYFW: Prabal Gurung
Holy moly, Prabal Gurung is insane. I adore it - this is like fantasy fashion in a sense. Where would I wear this to? Back up singing for Grace Jones? Art gala? Lace, appliques, and those shoes, oh my.

NYFW: Altuzarra
Alturazarra: a little bit of leather and cinched waists go a long way. I’m particularly digging on the pointy toe heels. Yeah, you heard me.

NYFW: Alexander Wang
Alexander Wang’s motto? Ride or die. I particularly love the perforated leather bandana because it’s just a wee touch of futurism.

NYFW: Cynthia Rowley
My brain is in overdrive - the Cynthia Rowley collection is totally buzzing. The silky dresses with flower prints harks back to Anna Sui enthusiasms and the laser cut golden shorts are just too divine with the splashes on sequins. Also, doesn’t it look like the models are walking on a river of liquid gold? In short: I want, I need, I die.

NYFW: Yigal Azrouël
Yigal Azrouël reminds me of the power of a long dress: the ultimate sensuality. Can I have that hot black number?

When I’m not spending my days dressing like an urban ballerina, I would like to look like a motorcycle babe from Nicole Miller.

NYFW: Jason Wu
Everyone, Jason Wu just slapped me in the face and it was amazing. I am awestruck by these vivid uses of yellow and royal blue. A white peplum embroidered skirt? Yes, yes, please. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: a little vintage flair goes a long way. Sheath styles and full skirts are timeless, but mixing it up with contemporary interests with the likes of a mullet skirt...

NYFW Spring 2012: Nicholas K. & Rachel Comey
I really have to write about these two collections together - both provide gobs of perfect vibes for a contemporary bohemian look. Long, drapey hems, biba headscarves, flowy but not unstructured figures. The cold shoulders with a grunge appeal via Nicholas K. update the boho look while Rachel Comey is all about shades of fluid romance without all the sap.

NYFW Spring 2012: Vena Cava
Um, hello! While I am a sucker for all things with a retro motif, I simply adore how Vena Cava is inspired by vintage silhouettes but not a slave to them. By taking subtle influences, the pieces can truly stand out on their own, without looking like period piece costumes or archetypes. Besides, wouldn’t this line be dreamy for exploring Malta? More so, that little off-the-shoulder number...

NYFW Spring 2012: BCBG Max Azria

I decided to switch things up for the Ippolita Jewelry event. This dress was lurking in my closet, which I originally bought for a toga party two or three years ago. I’ve worn it on and off...

Ippolita Jewelry || Dark Decadence
Okay, darlings, let’s get serious. I love me some jewelry - particularly any piece that seems to have a harder look to it. (As if you really had to guess at this point). Ippolita is a line that appeals to my own sensibilities, with a Florentine flair and jewelry designs that aren’t just about playing nice. Though, the shapes and patterns aren’t so dark where they are...

Skulls & Frilly Femmes: Tarina Tarantino
I first glimpsed of Tarina Tarantino’s designs with Hello Kitty motifs, gobs of bright pink lucite, diamante sparkles. Oh and you can bet I had a field day of eye candy. Darlings, this is why I want to let you know about the Tarina Tarantino flash sale on Ideeli. No, I’m not shilling and I don’t intend ladle you all up with “buy this, save here, and so forth” posts....

24 Blogazine Party: Pure Case of Sassiness
There is something to be said on parties for a cause. Of course, I’m the first in line for a good time with a glass of champagne and curated tunes. Though, we can’t all survive solely on just fluff and laughter. Vanessa of 24 Blogazine brought together a bevy of bloggers, artisans, creators, social media vixens, and the like to enjoy themselves but also to raise awareness for...
