Baby, It’s Cold Outside: Avoiding the Michelin Man Look
Even though this winter has been more on the balmy side versus a icy tundra plague proportions, here are two style inspirations for bundling up.

(Baby It’s Cold…Pt 1)
- I have that Betsey Johnson coat above and it’s rather fabulous. Though, I think it’s much more fitted in reality than in the photo. It’s got ruffles on the back and with thumb holes in the cuffs, which is perfect for when I forget to bring gloves.
- Skinny jeans and boots are the best and easiest combination for looking cool in the cold.
- Since I wear so much black, color accessories is where I try to make my outfits pop. A deep mustard bag, gold, silver, and dark gunmetal bangles brighten up stormy weather.
(Baby, It’s Cold… Pt 2)
- When in doubt, I veer towards military inspired cuts since the looks are usually fitted and have a flair for detail.
- Tights, tights, tights. I just discovered the magic of fleece lined tights. They are amazing and definitely make winter less harsh.
- I have an unapologetic love for large jewelry; chandelier earrings and cocktail rings are no exception.
