I was invited to attend Project this July and was privy to some pretty dope goods. I’m a list-making junkie, so I’m going to highlight the event in my favorite format.
- I love menswear. This show blew my mind.
- Of course I’m digging on the touches of neon and masculine jewelry.
- I like to appropriate menswear for women, naturally, and a showcase of studded jackets, bowties, sturdy weekender bags, and boots are great for my tomboy and femme moods.
- Why can’t all men dress like this? I want to live in that world.
- Project is curated like an art gallery versus a peddle-your-wares shindig which is lovely for meeting designers and brand reps. It fostered real conversation versus, you know, shilling.
- It doesn’t matter where I am, I will take pictures of all the shoes.
- I had a grand time checking out old and new favorites: Plain Jane Homme, Vitaly, Les Ateliers, Stolen Riches, Nudie Jeans, Two Inch Cuffs.
- One of my new faves is Stolen Riches: a great mix of classic Americana (family owned since 1915!) with contemporary twists. I’m a fan of the bright neon laces all withTombstone andZiggy Stardust references.
- How awesome are the minimalist wood rings by Vitaly? I also dig that the knuckle dusters motif, too.
- And of course, that studded jacket should be mine.
