Baby Loves Bronze

{ October 13, 2012 }
Jacket: People’s Liberation
Top: Kensie
Jeans: Guess Jeans
Scarf: random vendor in Union Square
Boots: Doc Martens
Sunglasses: Queen of Hearts & Modern Love
Necklace: Shock Boutique (now defunct?)
Bag: gift from my mom
This is a little bit of an oldie but a goodie. In an effort to mix up my love for black clothing, I tested out some metallic jeans. And honey, I am in love. Who doesn’t want to look like a backup dancer for Ziggy Stardust?

The new Doc Martens x Liberty London collection reminds me of 1990s grunge-y flower prints but with a twist. Little birds make everything sweeter without a lethal dose of overly saccharine. Personally, I would love to pair a casual little black dress with some of the bird-boots. An updated Reality Bites look, anyone? The boots and the small satchels are priced $230 each.
Well, there’s nothing to lose…

Cardigan: Fox’s
Top: Nanna (Unsure of brand name - I won it in a blog contest).
Tank: Forever 21
Skirt: Forever 21
Stockings: DKNY
Boots: Frye
Glasses: Zennioptical
Necklace: House of Harlow
I love my $20 Zennioptical glasses more than life itself. Well, in all seriousness, this is just a casual outfit for a week day of puttering around and enjoying some time off of work. Nothing to see here.
Outfit du Jour: I Never Said I Was A Good Girl

{ February 10, 2012 }
Dress: Asos
Stockings: Wolford
Booties: Aldo
Belt: BCBG
I have a not-so-secret confession: I love stockings. Patterned ones even more. They dress up any outfit and these Wolford numbers are no exception. Dark purple with flowers on the calf and with a backseam? Oh, honey, I’m in love.
If you haven’t guessed by now, my style can sometimes be a play on a ballerina—or in this case, a skater style dress—gone bad.

Doc Martens Does Hello Kitty

Okay, I totally admit it: once in a while I wish I was a teenager again. No, not for high school classes or tawdry proms. I want to get away with wearing these Doc Marten babies. Sanrio! On my shoes! Docs made the grade with the punky and sweet mix but still hard enough to pair with short skirts and a bad attitude. Or, could I get away with these as a somewhat cynical 25 year old? Give me your thoughts, dear readers.
$124.95 at Nordstrom.
Wishlist Wednesday: Winter Survival Kit

With the impending blizzard on the prowl today, all I want to do is curl up with hot chocolate, shearling slippers, a thick book, and an awesome blanket. If you must venture outdoors in such chilly weather, here’s some lovely pieces to make snow angels in. Truly, I’m coveting these all winter. (Also note: my obsession with fur trapper hats is not ending. Blame it on my love for Grumpy Old Men.)
- Betsey Johnson Cropped Cardigan, $228
- Hansel and Basel Snow Snow Tights, $42
- Michael Kors Gloves, $81
- Theory Trapper Hat, $80
- L.L. Bean Duck Boots, $149
- Michael Stars Thermal Legging, $54.60
weradrobe.com // because i had to make a call
I’m always looking for new ways/inspiration to wear Doc Martens. I swear, I’ll never, ever give up my pairs. I really like how this girl left some of the eyelets undone for a messay look, but not unkempt, either. The yellow bag and the red gingham scarf is a nice touch.
