Hello beautiful new 3.1 Philip Lim heels…

My latest love: Coco Noir by Chanel. It smells divine!

Photo Diary // Project, Part Two

1. 2. I love the designs by the Brooklyn label Rasp. Just the right amount of dark touches and handsome charm.

3.4. The adorable babes at Emgie Libris craft handmade journals from recycle materials. I always carry a notebook with me to jot down poetry and fiction ideas that filter my way and this line would be perfect to add to my collection.

5.6.  BedStu caught my eye with their playful studded back and sassy wedge heels. They would be great for Spring weather (when it finally shows up!), no?

Photo Diary // PROJECT, Part 1

Attending the PROJECT trade show is such a treat. I’m head over heels into menswear, so it’s always cool to scope out new duds for dudes. Continually, it’s an artfully curated space and show. And not for nothing, I always enjoy myself by meeting interesting new people and discovering hidden gems.

1. 2. 3. Vlado Footwear. You probably wouldn’t know it by looking at me (read: typical heels and red lipstick gal) but I love sneakers. I have a few pairs in my closet that don’t get enough love but that will change soon enough. These kicks are too cool for me to not want. The sneakers in #2 light up, which reminds me of being a kid with my own jazzy light up sneakers. Bonus point: they’re rechargeable via usb. #3 showcases Vlado’s gear for the ladies.

4. 5. 6.  I don’t know if I’m cool enough to wear Civil Clothing, but gosh, I hope so. Those beanies with metal plates! Studded baseball caps! It’s like the creative director, Omar, read my little punky mind (and soul). Can I pretend to be a bad ass girl in that jaguar jacket? You know, for that ruffian literary gang I’m in…

Voodoo Vixen cardigan
Sugarlips top
H&M jeans
Madden Girl booties
Anthropologie beanie
nOir earrings

Wandering around Chinatown with two of my loveliest girlfriends is a fun and spontaneous weekend activity. There are so many hidden gems! A few cups of almond bubble tea, some adventures, and my [new] favorite rockabilly cardigan made the perfect low key Saturday…

A little style resolution I made to myself this year is to spice up my wardrobe and add some fun twists. So, I went the vintage inspired route and fell in love with this cardigan. It makes me feel like I should be crooning in a song with Les Paul. The embroidered roses are perfect for jazzing up my jeans and tee weekend uniform, but I think the sweater will also look bangin’ with an a-line dress.

Cracking Skulls

{ December 28, 2012 }

Sweater: e.vil
Jeans: Loehmann’s
Booties: Aldo
Bracelet: Ann Taylor
Ring: Etsy // gift from my sister

A pink sweater with red and white rhinestones? Oh, honey, I’m all over it like no one’s business. It seems that I can’t look at the camera to save my life, but these were the only decent shots I could snag of myself.

Wishlist Wednesday: Book Lovers Gift Guide

I’m not super keen on tons of gift guides but where would this blog be without a literary bent? I made this gift inspiration list for those with wordsmith friends and language lovers.

  1. Kate Spade Romeo & Juliet Book Clutch, $325
While this is definitely a luxe purchase on my list, how cute is this? It looks like a book but it’s really a clutch. One part librarian, one part international spy.
  2. Out of Print 1984 Fleece, $42
Instead of wearing your heart on your sleeve (or shirt), how about a favorite story?
  3. Modern Anthology Life Notebook, $25
I’m always scribbling notes, and does my poet sister. Having a stash of notebooks is great for on the go inspiration and there’s always a place to jot down thoughts.
  4. Drawing Surrealism, $37.80
I love giving art books to friends, especially as holiday or housewarming gifts.
  5. Wolf and Squeak Studios Found Poem, $4
Get a little whimsical with a found poem. Then, you could frame it!
  6. JanDa Jewelry Book Charm, $28
A tad offbeat, but this charm makes a sweet companion for a necklace chain.

Baby Loves Bronze

Jacket: People’s Liberation
Top: Kensie
Jeans: Guess Jeans
Scarf: random vendor in Union Square
Boots: Doc Martens
Sunglasses: Queen of Hearts & Modern Love
Necklace: Shock Boutique (now defunct?)
Bag: gift from my mom

This is a little bit of an oldie but a goodie. In an effort to mix up my love for black clothing, I tested out some metallic jeans. And honey, I am in love. Who doesn’t want to look like a backup dancer for Ziggy Stardust?

Blazer: Forever 21
Top: c/o Sugar Lips
Jeggings: Groupon (yes, you read that correctly)
Flats: Dolce Vita
Necklace: H&M

This is my version of a lazy day. The perfect cropped blazer and smoking slippers. The lovely folks at Sugar Lips sent me this cute peplum corset top and I was a wee bit scared to try it. Something that accentuates the hips? On me? An already hip endowed gal? We know how this story should go. I paired the pastel top with a standard blazer and I was pleasantly surprised.
